Why the Sunflower?

I have always loved sunflowers. They are a symbol of so many beautiful qualities that resonate with me. Sunflowers represent endurance and strength - they thrive and bloom even in tough conditions They embody, happiness and love, constantly turning their bright faces toward the sun, always seeking light and warmth. To me, they symbolize life-giving energy and timelessness, reminding us to stay hopeful and positive, no matter what. Just like a sunflower, I believe in facing challenges with a bright heart and a sunny outlook.
In medicine the heartbeat symbolizes life. As a nurse I looked at that bumpy line and thought that's good. But let's face it, we only get one shot at this thing called life - no do-overs and is "that's good", good enough? Since my dad passed I've truly realized each bump on that line is a reminder to make every moment count - whether it's loving my crazy family, letting slights pass by, enjoying a good laugh with friends, my patients or heck any stranger willing to laugh with me. That line reminds be to be the best I can be - because if we only have one life, might as well make it a wild and meaningful ride.

Meet Stephanie Harris
I want to first and foremost let you know I understand the complex dance of balancing caregiving, family, work, and personal well-being because I've been there too. As a parent raising two wonderful boys, I've experienced the challenge of caring for aging parents, while striving to be the best partner to my spouse. Often feeling more of a failure than a success.
For a long time, I found myself caught in the cycle of running from one task to another, feeling like I was just going through the motions-missing out on precious moments watching my children grow, feeling resentment for the demands placed on me, often losing sight of my own needs. Some of those demands were self-inflicted. I've felt the weight of guilt when my focus was elsewhere, and the ache of wishing I could be fully present for my loved ones.
I've come to realize that in caring for others, I also lost touch with my own health-mentally, physically and spiritually. As a caregiver, we carry a lot. But through this journey, with guidance/training in functional and holistic care and self reflection, I've learned the importance of balance, self-compassion, and finding ways to reconnect with what truly matters.
My experiences have fueled my passion to support others navigating similar paths. I believe that with understanding, patience, and a little guided reflection, it's possible to find harmony, and even joy, in the most demanding seasons of life. I'm here to share what I've learned and to walk alongside you as you find your own balance, rediscovering the happiness and fulfillment you deserve.
I will provide compassion and support that will recognize your unique story. Together, we'll explore reducing stress, identifying changeable causes, and create sustainable routines that support your overall well-being.
Remember, caring for yourself isn't just important - it's vital for your ability to care for others. Self-care is not a luxury, it is a necessity.

So you have realized that your very human feelings are not always energetic and positive. Recognizing that it's normal to feel overwhelmed, guilty, or conflicted, and that your feelings are valid. To acknowledge this can allow for room to grow. Part of that growth is encouraging to prioritize you own well-being. Understanding that caring for yourself enables you to better support your loved ones.

I also like: "It takes a village" because in life it does. You do not have to do what your are doing alone, It's important to seek out your tribe community or professional resources for the emotional and practical support needed to be that awesome caregiver. At the same time seek moments to reflect gratitude and purpose. Those moments can help shift perspective and foster a positive outlook amidst challenges.
